Ron's Layout
PENDLETON
“Pendleton” is a new layout, first made available for exhibition in 2022. It is entirely made from items from dismantled previous exhibition layouts. It has been designed to be transported in one car, erected and operated by one person, if necessary. It also contains very few electronics. All the points are fully wired as is the track. A shuttle system is operated using a Block station stop shuttle controller. Many of the buildings are Metcalfe, but almost all have been modified in some way. Track operation is both DCC, using Digitrax controllers and DC for the shuttle. Street lights and interior lights of houses and factories provide additional lighting. Sky by club member Edward Ody
The layout is N Gauge and is loosely based upon Salford in Greater Manchester in the 1960’s and 1970’s. It contains a multi platform station and an Iron Ore transfer yard. The local fire station is also attending a fire in a small warehouse
Baseboards are designed as described in my book, “Designing and Building Model Railway Baseboards.”
